Hi there,

Sorry to be one of those people (I believe newb is the proper term), but I recently purchased a Sager laptop which is currently being built and was wondering how well it will be able to emulate GC/Wii games. The specs are as follows:

OS: Win7 Home Premium 64 bit
Graphics Video Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 560M 1,536MB PCI-Express GDDR5 DX11
CPU: 2nd Generation Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM, 2.0-2.8GHz, (32nm, 6MB L3 cache)
RAM: 8,192MB DDR3 1333MHz Dual Channel Memory

Also I purchased this from Xotic PC, who is going to overclock the system CPU/GPU for me with their "Redline Boost" option (in case anyone is familiar with this process haha). It is supposed to raise performance benchmark levels by 10-15%.

So, thoughts? Any feedback would be helpful!

Oh, also, first post! Woo-hoo.

Well I would say that the computer you have bought will play games in Dolphin quite decent.
Maybe not full speed on highest settings but good speeds over all.

the cpu is overheating like shit... without overclock

good look with it...
but 2,8ghz is a black sheep trick Wink

2.6 GHz (4 cores usage)
2.8 GHz (2 cores usage)
2.9 GHz (1 core usage)
so i guess for dolphin it will jump between 2.6ghz and 2.8ghz

game cube games will work to 99% ...
wii games... jeah most of it... but not the heavy 60fps games like smg,smg2
EDIT by neobrain: that pic was kinda annoying..
EDIT by dannzen: don't fuck with my sig Dodgy

Haha yeah I looked up Redline Boost after my post and apparently they have learned to leave the CPU alone and focus solely on the GPU for overclocking, and monitor temperature levels during the whole process. Thanks for your concern!

Yay! I'm mostly looking to play Metroid Prime 1 and 2, Melee, and occasionally Brawl.

Thank you both for your help! I am excited now!
