My keyboard and joystick wont work

If you're able to map the controls then it must work ingame, meaning it maybe from the game, not the emulator, try a different game or redump the one you already have

Also try running the game and mapping the buttons whilst the game is running, keep looking at the wiimote window, try pressing a button, it should show a red light come up on the button you pressed, if the buttons lights up without it responding in the game then its a problem with the game
