If your CPU overheat, it'll underclock itself as a "burn" protection. Use HWMonitor, it's from the same creator of CPU-Z

ASRock Z97M OC Formula: Pentium G3258, GeForce GT 440, 16 GB DDR3-1600, Windows 10 (22H2)

If it had underclocked it would have shown in CPU Z

Which is the problem, it should be higher than that because turbo boost :3

No. This is a 2.5 Turbo 3.1 ... This is a lap top. The 2.9 figure I gave you was in turbo mode because in turbo mode with both cores under load it will turbo to 2.9 which is what CPU-Z shows

IVy runs hot, that is no shock. Its well know that ivy runs much hotter then the sandy. Its also well know that they dont overclock as well for that very reason. Dolpinh will take much higher advantage form a sandy over clocked then a ivy. Yes ivy is a better chip but sandy is much better when it comes to heat.

use HWMonitor Like John said ( its made by cpu-z ), best app you will ever need. Read that hug article to get an idea where your temps should be. Remember ivy will run hot, that is just the nature of the chip.

Also what board are you using, it may be a bios issue. Some cheep boards will report incorrect data.

Have any of you people actually read his posts? His cpu is not throttling.

Cheer what are your dolphin settings?

He says he's using HLE, but his settings in his second post show LLE.

Cheer: If you're using LLE, forget about it, your CPU is too slow for that.

I think its because the top question of page two is what we see
"Wahts the best program to check temps. And also, why does that matter?"

I also just saw this is a laptop. I dont see MG playing 100% on a laptop. They are design for portability not speed. Though, maybe so I down own one.

It doesn't matter if it's a laptop or not. If the hardware is good enough to run the game fast enough, then it will. In this case his hardware should be good enough to run the game fast enough with HLE, but not with LLE. If he's using HLE and is getting the speeds he claims, then there is an issue somewhere. If he's using LLE and is getting those speeds, I 'd say that's normal.
