@ Oesi: I have the same CPU as you and a comparable graphics card from ATI (Radeon 5450). Mario Kart should work like a charm. About the hyper threading: I haven't changed anything in my BIOS, so it might have been switched off when I bought my PC. Anyway, dolphin uses 2 threads on 2 cores as it should.

Virtualisation is indeed something completely different, it's required by some virtual machines to run a 2nd operating system on top of your actual operating system. Microsoft VM requires it in Windows 7 for XP mode to work, for example.

One more thing about hyper threading, I remember that switching it on or off in the BIOS would stop your OS from being able to boot back in the Pentium 4 days. You could only change it -before- installing your OS. Not sure if this is still the case though. Just be aware.

Your i3 processor is equivalent to about a core 2 duo e8600 or better. The ram and video card are also more than sufficient.

I'd say you can play all games supported by dolphin on your setup at full speed using correct configs.

No, his i3 is marginally better than c2d e8400. (I did some research online)

@ Ocean: Well I don't know about full speed on -all- games... I get 18FPS in Ordon Village in Zelda TP with my i3 530 Tongue

Other than that most games do seem to work well with the i3 though.

That's a matter of settings only. I used to get 10-15fps too in Ordon (1st village).

Solution was dx9 plugin, framelimit to off or auto, enable vsync, copy efb to texture, and use 5000+ revision.
