You should not do that . It might harm the mobo , ram and other components

Oh, well dang. If I buy the psu as well(I chose this) could I run the rig with the motherboard, cpu, ram, and my gpu? I'm just curious to see what I could get to run before the entire thing is bought. I'm basically saving up for the cpu, mobo, ram for one half, and gpu with the case for the other half. And I could probably have the first half bought and ready by christmas.

It would help if you posted the info. next time instead of just the links.

With that out of the way I would steer clear of MSI. There are some decent asus/asrock Z75/Z77 motherboards out there for $90-100.

Also there is no point in spending extra money for high frequency ram that will just get underclocked automatically by the IMC anyways.

I would also recommend an Nvidia graphics card to avoid the issues currently plaguing the HD 7000 series drivers which adversely effect dolphins performance.

Sorry about that. And I changed my ram(saved 40 bucks) to kingston hyperX ddr3 ram 2 4gig sticks. I'm getting an nvidia geforce gtx 660, the mobo I'm buying is $119. It's the asrock board admin89 recommended. I'm also buying the antec modular psu you both recommended. Same cpu. And of coarse the heatsink and thermal compound. It's looking like $725 in all right now.

Ok......in that case I retract all previous comments.

That PSU saved my workstation PC when some dumb electrician ass connected 750V DC line to our normal 220V AC line, of course transistors and caps in primary circuit burned and exploded but high voltage didn't got through, unlike Sony laptop PSU - battery went boom (it was lucky that there was no casualties because room was full of people and keys were flying everywhere, it was like a frag grenade went off)
