Coming across this weird issue when playing Project M (hack for Smash Bros Brawl) in dolphin, basically around 2 minutes 45 seconds into every match, the music will suddenly become extremely quiet for the rest of the match whether it's my custom music or the original music playing.

I've tried playing just Brawl and the music doesn't become quiet at all, so this issue seems to be specific to Project M only

I found a minor fix but it kinda disrupts the flow of the match. I have to pause the game and then unpause for the music to become loud again but after another 2 minutes and 45 seconds the music will go quiet again so this isn't a permanent fix.

Using Dolphin version 3.5-316, and I haven't come across this issue in any other game, here are my settings. http://oi40.tinypic.com/33ff2w4.jpg

I've tried several things like messing around with the DPS audio settings, changing the frame limit from audio to auto to 65FPS (as Project M runs at 65FPS), trying Direct11, turning off the HD texture pack and deleting all the custom music from the sd card but the music problem still persists.

Tried searching the web for anyone else who may have encountered a similar problem but i'm coming across nothing, this is seriously making me scratch my head as I haven't the slightest idea as to whats causing this issue. Anyone here came across this problem before?

Use a build newer than 3.5-1154. This is very likely one of the million bugs in the old AXWii HLE.

Also, if you update to 4.0, 4.0.1, or any dev build after it (and a few before it), make sure to read this to properly transfer your save files over: https://dolphin-emu.org/docs/guides/controlling-global-user-directory/

Tried 3.5-1154 and 4.1 and the game runs badly on both, audio still goes quiet and the game doesn't stay at a constant 65FPS. Is there no way to fix this audio problem in 3.5-316 then?

The strange thing is before I added these recent HD textures and custom music to it yesterday, i'm positive the audio wasn't going quiet at all beforehand as I remember having several games with my friends back in August on Project M in the exact same version and we had long matches without the audio ever going quiet. I'm positive i haven't touched any of the internal Dolphin settings since then so this is driving me crazy because this audio issue so hasn't got anything to do with the HD textures or the custom music as i've already tried disabling both but that doesn't fix anything

Okay now this is weird, the low volume glitch happens when I'm playing it on my Wii now after I just transfered over my custom music to my Wii SD card. It must be something to do with my custom music, but then again it can't because I took off all the custom music on dolphin and the audio problem was still there, heck I even created new Project M sd cards from scratch for dolphin yet the audio issue still came up... this is getting more and more confusing

EDIT: I've tried different versions of dolphin, different versions of project m, made new project m sd cards from scratch, tried this with my Dolphin & Wii versions of my game... yet this audio problem still comes. It's definitely got something to do with the custom music as when I just transferred that over to my wii, it made the problem come up on there. What's strange is I deleted the custom music off my wii sd card, made a new project m batch from scratch for my wii, yet the audio problem is still there... it's as if the custom music has plagued my PC and wii which is why the audio carries on messing up despite deleting the custom music from the sd card.

New HLE or the old HLE? Actually I don´t see any quality change between them. Just that the new stutters when under full speed.

If by quality you mean "stutter" it´s because you (or any person) aren´t able to hit full speed with determined games.

mcmmaster: Looks like the issue you're running into is an issue with Project M itself. I'll notify that one Project M dev that hangs around in the IRC about it.

Yeah I figured it's got something to do with Project M. I happened to find one other person on the Project M forums who ran into the exact same problem, hasn't told me of a fix yet but he said...

"That is just the Audio Fade code by IE."

I'm certain this audio fade glitch wasn't happening before this week, it's definitely the custom music I added to the game in the past few days that's done this. But i've deleted that custom music and made several new sets of SD cards running Project M without the custom music yet the audio fade is still their. Theirs honestly no logical explanation behind this, it's driving me crazy.

EDIT: Here we go http://www.smashmods.com/forum/thread-5840.html Says the audio fade was adding in 2.5, yet i've had 2.6 installed on my dolphin for weeks and now it's suddenly happening. Seems to be intentional but it states that...

" leaving Project M idle for three minutes will now cause the game audio to fade until an input is pressed"

I'm not leaving the game idle though, i've tested it on dolphin and every fight... oh my wait a sec. I think I solved why it was happening and why this audio fade wasn't kicking in when I played Project M with my friends a couple of months back. Basically i've been doing a lot of test fights with the cpu's playing, that's when the audio fade kicks in. I've must have had over 50 fights switching from playing some to watching some against the custom music that I never realized the times when the music faded.

Problem fixed then, just don't watch any cpu fights as that's when the audio fade kicks in, just had a bunch of matches that I played and the audio fade is gone... man do I feel stupid. Thanks for the help and sorry for wasting your time.
