Multiple Controllers Bluetooth passthrough disconnecting

Hi all,

I have been using Dolphin with Bluetooth passthrough for a few days now. I have played a few games using only one controller without any issue.
Today I tried to connect 2 Wii motes at the same time and it worked for Wii Sports for example. Then I tried Just Dance 2018 and House of the Dead Overkill but the remotes disconnect after a couple of minutes.
It is important to mention that I am using one original Wii Remote plus and a third party one with motion plus also in it.

I have ordered another original Wii Remote Plus and I am going to try to pair it with the other genuine remote just to be sure.
In the meantime does anyone knows anything about this? Is this a known bug with Bluetooth passthrough? Or an issue with those specific games or even with using Wii remotes with integrated motion plus? Any suggestion?

Yes I am aware of that. But I was wondering if someone experience the same issue as I did and could have an explanation.
As I said I am going to try with 2 original remotes, I am also thinking about trying with original non-montion plus remotes and with a different bluetooth adapter just to troubleshoot the issue.

So continuing this monologue . I am only feeding this post just to share my experience here for you guys no to go through this troubleshooting session again.

I have made a couple more tests, this time with 2 original Wii motion plus remotes and also with a different a Bluetooth adapter "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260" (this one is actually mentioned as one of the best, but as [color=#8920a3][b]mbc07[/color] [/b]said only the WII bluetooth adapter works flawlessly) and same result, remotes would disconnect after a few minutes.
I tested a few more games and this happened also in Mario Tennis, New Carnival (something), so I assume this games are very Bluetooth demanding maxing out the adapter.
So I am looking into either buying a DolphinBar which I assume is going to work fine with 2 original motion plus remotes or trying 2 non montion plus remotes with my Intel N 7260.
I will keep updating this post with my findings.

Even the Wii BT adapter module is not 100% robust in Dolphin.  At least for me, when I launch TLoZ Skyward Sword, if I press any button on the Wii remote as soon as the game is launched, it will lose its pairing with the adapter and has to be re-synchronized.  To avoid that, I have to wait a few seconds after the game launches before I wake up the Wii remote.  I don't know if this happens in the real Wii.  I haven't experienced any issues with the other games I have played.

You will be disappointed.  The DolphinBar is known not to work in BT passthrough at all.  See here.  Very few adapter dongles do a perfect job.  I tried several before just caving in and wiring a Wii BT module.

Actually my BT adapter works great in Skyward. Actually it works great with all games but only using one remote at a time.

And about the dolphin bar, it does work well emulating the remote doesn;t it? using the "RealWiimote" option in the controllers? I am only interested in the DolphinBar for multi player since single player works like a charm for me.

Sorry.  I misunderstood.  The DolhpinBar seems to work great for emulated BT operation, from what I've read here in the forums.  It just doesn't do BT passthrough.

The Dolphin Bar works the same as Bluetooth Passthrough except that the Wiimote Speaker will only work properly if you have a -TR Wiimote (on non-TR Wiimotes you'll hear only a garbled mess of glitched audio and noises), the latency is a little bit higher (doesn't affect most games, but motion intensive games like Just Dance series or Zelda Skyward Sword might feel somewhat more "difficult" to play) and the compatibility is only assured with genuine, Nintendo-branded Wiimotes (in Bluetooth Passthrough, any cheap/fake/3rd-party Wiimote that works with a real Wii also works in BT Passthrough). There's also a small detection issue where you need to plug and unplug an accessory (e.g. Nunchuk, Classic Controller, etc) to make some games detect the Motion Plus accessory (even when using a Wii Remote Plus)...

In BT Passthrough, the game communicates directly with the BT Adapter, which on this case is identical to the one they would detect in a real console. So, if you're having issues or experiencing behavior different to what would happen in a real Wii I suppose you're on Windows, libusb sometimes doesn't work 100% reliably and might cause those small inconsistencies when running on Windows. We also have a small number of reports of specific BT adapters that despite working flawlessly with Dolphin when running on Linux or Mac has some weird issues on Windows...

Thanks mbc07. I am probably going to give ubuntu a try in dual boot.

EDIT: Tried it in Ubuntu, same result. After a few minutes the remotes would still disconnect. Dolphin Bar next...
