My guess is if you use a newer version of dolphin, then you can use dual core for a speed up.

It seems that I misunderstood. I guess he's talking about netplay multiplayer, not just mutiplayer. He didn't seem to make that clear enough.

thanks!
i was stubbornly trying running game with openGL...but he can't keep the multiplayer activity. with direct9 it works great...with fps limit on auto.

now with little steps I'm going (if it is possible) to improve the quality...

summarily which is the differences between direct9, 11 or openGL? it's about the game graphic quality?

fort extremedude2: i'm running the 3.0-419-dirty dolphin version, and the dual core has to been disabled only with timesplitters2 in openGL, for the rest I can take it enable!

it's possible to play online?! I known that GC was a great console, but this emulator looks to be better (deserves it)!

thanks for advice!

Fwiw, TimeSplitters 2 is a super easy, non-demanding GC game to emulate on Dolphin. First game I ever tested, and I'm still loving it on nearly all my machines (runs great on everything so far). Big Grin It's runs like a champ in single core mode too.

In short, DX9, DX11, and OpenGL all call different APIs to emulate things the GC/Wii GPU normally would. There are minor differences in each, some of it lies in the code but a there are a few visible differences. For example, I think only the DX9 backend for Dolphin can use SSAA, and the OpenGL plugin always ignores EFB format changes, while this option is selectable in DX9 and DX11. DX9 and DX11 are only available on Windows OSes; other systems need to use OpenGL (or the Software Renderer :p).

The key differences, however, are speed and compatibility. DX9 tends to be faster than DX11, and both tend to be faster than OpenGL. This can vary depending on the game, GPU, and GPU driver. Sometimes, DX11 or OpenGL will solve graphical issues that DX9 can't or vice versa. Again, this depends on the game. Check the Dolphin Wiki for specific games, and suggested video backends.

Lastly, netplay is possible. It's different from using Nintendo's Wi-fi network; netplay's just for connecting with friends online whenever the original game on the original system would let other players plug in controllers for multiplayer. Check out the Netplay Guide for more info. It says Dolphin 3.0, but it should be good for newer revs too.

of course, I have doubts on multiplayer 'couse i'm playing it in opengl (singole core) with max anti-aliasing and anisotropic filter in 1366x768 16:9 (with wind waker double core i can't--->instead whit twilight princess i can), that's a beauty, much longer better than GC.

thank for the drect9, 11 opengl explanation, when i've go many time i'm going to studi in deep the different APIs.

last night I read about netplay and it seems to be great but also hard getting compatible. (my roomates are apple's dependent) but I'm going to try it too!
