Shocked
Hey guys,

I was wondering if it is possible to have 2 computers on a LAN network running dolphin clients to play Monster Hunter: Tri? The official servers are going down in a few weeks, and Ive yet to play this game and would like to play with my wife in co-op mode.

The setup is visualized in diagram below:

It would be possible if someone set up a server that acted like the official servers and said server was accurate enough for Dolphin's purposes. This is the case with game's like Phantasy Star Online: Episodes I&II for the GC. If someone were ever willing and able to put together a server like that, then you could probably use the Wii-network branch of Dolphin. Right now, it's impossible as far as I know.

Also, netplay with Dolphin won't work with Wii games (at least the ones that need Wiimotes) so you can't even emulate the offline local co-op in MH3 if it has one.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah that would be nice; however it doesnt even have to be an online server... something thats doable over lan to just play 2 player would be nice... kind of an Ad-Hoc... i believe official servers just did matchmaking anyways. Never played PSO but I think those servers actually have content on them.

Strange that Wii Motes wouldnt be supported in Netplay, seems kind of a crucial feature. Monster Hunter doesnt support just the GC controller, but it does support Classic controller (and thats the preferable way to play)... however classic controller uses Wii Mote for connection Sad Would be nice if Classic Controller could be emulated through the GC controller or something... that would make a lot more games compatible since A LOT of them support Classic Controller but very few support GC controller.

Old Dead Thread, Rise Thread Rise!  Ok I'm a Thredromancer yay! \o/!

Is there support ~~Now? (almost 2016)~~ for Lan networking 2 players,
on 2 different computers running dolphin?, both players using emulated Wiimotes?

Is there some way me and my boyfriend can play Monster Hunter Tri co-op, on different computers together?   I don't care if it's a complicated setup. Just so long as i don't have to write the program to server host from scratch.  Just configuring .ini and .cfg files, and knocking port holes in my router, running a server .exe or all that i can handle.

BF and i want to play, just not SplitScreen.  Is there an online server setup for doing so yet that i don't know about?  We both have Wii's and both have the game, both have Wii-motes, and both have classic controllers, (one with the Japanese controller board, and 2 with the USA controller boards). But the Servers for Wii are gone, and honestly Dolphin just makes it look a lot better, offers save states, and lets me use my mouse, and wireless xbox controller at the same time to emulate a wiimote (with some very tricky control setup! but it worked!) *\o/*

But he wants to play too.. and with me! I've time all day while he's at work to set things like this up and get them working. So is there any way yet, complicated or not,  for him and I to play together co-op in monsterhunter tri -without- resorting to split screen?
