Mr. House from Fallout New Vegas and Jack Hargreave from Crysis 2....hmm
Two very very old men from completely different type of games. What could they possible have in common you might ask?

They're both way over 100 years old lying in tubes with super cooled jelly substance and both are talking to the players via computer screens.

This is a thought that have popped up in my head lately, is this like a new trend in gaming? Old farts trying to be immortals in their tubes?

I don't know if Fallout New Vegas was first with this but I can't stop wondering which game is gonna be next with this.

What do you guys think? Know any other games with old geezers in tubes?

It is a horror game where you lose your memory (on purpose), and leave a note to yourself to kill this guy who did something to you (can't remember), and anyway he is trying to become immortal XD

Ah OK.
Does it by chance involve stasis tubes with super cooled jelly substance?

As with the case of Mr. House, he's actually 261 years old according to the Fallout wiki, he was born in 2020 and Fallout New Vegas was set in 2281 and Jack Hargreave is 127 years old, born in 1896 and died 2023 when Crysis 2 was set.

Yup, welcome to video games. This is why anyone over the age of 18 has a hard time taking video game plots seriously.

You may be familiar with it and think it's common, I'm not familiar with it more then these two games.
But if you say decades, care to share any other examples then just talk?

I want to know what you know.

You've honestly never seen a movie, read a book, or watched a TV show where people were kept alive for extremely long periods of time in tubes? I don't believe you.

Even when it's not for extension people in tubes filled with fluid is pretty common in sci-fi. Space travel in modern movies or books usually involves this. Remember pandorum (you probably didn't see this so why am I asking this?)? Anything matrix-esque (including the matrix itself) also uses it. Long term stasis usually either involves the character getting frozen, or this.

Well I can admit that I recall seeing something like that in Matrix, but it was literally ages since I last saw it, early early 00's
