It seems like there is a new revision to dolphin every day/week, I'd like to play the same games on better revisions but I'm unsure how to import my save data as that apparently isn't carried over into the new revision when loading the same .iso. I cannot load save states from other revisions, and have tried copying the old save data from the User/Wii/title/00010000 directory, but the data causes the new revision to crash (importing from r6819 to r6882) any help on this process would be greatly appreciated.

Savestates do not usually work between different revisions. GC saves are found in User/GC. Wii saves can be found by right clicking the game in the main dolphin window and clicking open save location or something like that. Or you can just copy the entire /Wii folder.
