Hey guys.

Yes, you read the title right. When the Wii U first came out before I knew about backing up saves to Dolphin, I backed up all my Wii saves to the Wii U over wifi which in turn deleted the original saves on the Wii.

The problem is that I can only transfer some of my original Wii saves from my Wii U like Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, not all of them though (Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros Brawl).

I did the Wii to Wii U transfer a very long time ago and then uploading the saves to Dolphin shortly later but I still have both consoles.

The same from a real Wii applies to the vWii on the Wii U regarding save files. You can copy non-protected saves to the SD Card using the built-in Data Management from System Menu. For protected saves, you'll have to use a homebrew like Savegame Manager GX to properly export them (AFAIK there's no other way). After doing that, put the SD Card on your computer and use Dolphin's "Import Wii Save" feature to import them on Dolphin.

Alright. Thank you so much. Guess I'm gonna have to mod the Wii U.
