A cpu life is 8 year and overclocking reduce it by 2 or 3 year but who will kepp his cpu 5 years. :p

And, as cmccmc mentioned, some don't allow you to do it. My computer is also an example of that. I'm not saying that overclocking is a bad idea. I just want people to know the risks. And since most people that post here aren't very computer savvy, it could cause a lot more problems than it's worth if they blindly go and try to do it.

Sure overclocking is not for noobs, and it depend on motherboards..
Intel dual core E2160, E2180, E200, E2200 have the same technologie and the same prosessor only frequency is raised so u we can do it u can have E2200 with E2160 intel just overclock it and dont change anythink..
So if u have a good mob and read some faqs u can overclock easly Big Grin
i have a E2200 overclocked to 3.0Ghz and a E8400 @4Ghz24/24 for 1 years and i have a real games boost. all works fine under 70 Degre. :p

1st rule in overclock is a good cooling system i have an ASUS Silent Square Pro and the heat is perfect.
And No heat cant destroy your cpu :p becose motherboard shut down if cpu heat rise up to 75 so 0% of risk Big Grin

1st, what you said is above most people's head's. You can easily try to say how easy it is under certain conditions, but again, most people don't know that. And, you can still nuke your computer by overclocking. My previous computer over heated because the fan stopped working and it was supposed to shut down but didn't. I had to replace the fan (of course), motherboard, RAM, processor and HD because of the damage it did. So it isn't always a garantee that the computer will shutdown when it gets to hot. And I've done tech support and have heard hundereds of times it didn't shut down for other people either. As I said, I'm not against it, but I wouldn't go around recommending it. You'll get to many noobs thinking "oh what he said sounds easy and really has no risk, so I should go ahead and try it!".

I know how to enable it. Usually it's enabled by default. Remember I've done tech support and I probably know more about this stuff than most...maybe even you. Point is, even when enabled, it often doesn't work. Did you really think I wouldn't know how to check the bios to make sure it was enabled?? Maybe that's ingenious to you, but that's computers 101 to me. Anyway, this is becoming a pointless debate.

Btw, what is "Or ur pc do what he like loool"? You're not making any sense now. Make sure if you're speaking english, that we can understand you.
