More than 1 ps3 controller not working on super smash bros brawl

so i got motionjoy to connect my ps3 controllers, got the game and the emulator. one ps3 controller works fine. the second wont work. i looked through motionjoy and the controller configuration in dolphin. the game is reviving signals from the second controller but is not acting on it. i looked all over the web and best i can tell its because brawl is for whatever reason reading the second controller as as a wii remote instead of a gamecube controller.( i can see that it thinks that in the corner of the player box thing) and videos iv seen say that where 2 ps3 controllers work i see that the game reads both as gamecube controllers. please help
