More power brings more problems

Hello,
Dolphin is a wonderful emulator. I started using it on a Lenovo T450 with Intel Graphics 5500 and Windows 7 Pro. The stable version 5.0 worked perfectly with every game I tried.
I thought that switching to a Lenovo T470 with a more powerful Intel Graphics 520 could only improve things, but... OMG!!! Errors, crashes and even crackling audio!
Hopefully, it's just a matter of choosing the "right" development version and tweak it to the new hardware. I will discuss further options in the appropriate forums.
In the meantime, thank you to all developers and testers for your continued efforts.

You probably have Intel HD 620 in there and not a 520, but that aside, it sounds like a configuration issue, since it is an i5-5200u vs i7-7600u; if those are the exact versions of the laptop, if not then we need the exact CPU you are using, since Dolphin is more dependent on your CPU.

Just make sure that you use the latest Development version and do not go above 1x IR and 0xAnti-aliassing for testing purposes and see if the speed still is down.

I checked thoroughy in the BIOS and I am sure that I have Core i5-6300U 2.4 GHz with Intel HD Graphics 520, as reported in the Device Manager (also according to this table http://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkPad/ThinkPad%20T470/ThinkPad_T470_Platform_Specifications.pdf).

I had bad luck with my first Dolphin development version, because it was the build 6352 with the Wiimote crash bug.
Today I'll try the latest version, but in 6352 I also noticed crackling sound problems that other previous versions did not have.

Check the Windows Power options and make sure you're in High performance mode

0. Always use the latest development version
1. this is an ultra low power dual-core i5 with hyperthreading (https://ark.intel.com/products/88190/Intel-Core-i5-6300U-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_00-GHz), so to make sure that nothing is eating your power close ALL applications except for Dolphin, so no browsers, no music player NOTHING.
2. Make sure you are plugged in and that your Windows power options are set to High Performance
3. Use D3D as Graphics Back-end (or if at all possible, try Vulkan)
4. Do not use Ubershaders
5. Set IR to 1x

Try again... if it is still too slow, try checking what the temperatures of the CPU are while you are playing a game in Dolphin, and come back to us with the results
