(By Flicker I mean the brightness of it flickers up and down and noticeable on anything on the monitor that is white. (Like Dolphin Forums :P))

And it does stop after 1 min or so, but lately for a week now it's getting less bright and today after leaving it on for about 15 hours it "turned it self off", it just goes black while the light button on the monitor is still green meaning it's on and it says nothing about no signal, just makes some weird quiet noise, it just sits there until I "actually switch it off" by the button, wait for about a min and turn it back on or else it just goes off in about 2 seconds again, this screen "turning off" problem only started... about 1 hour ago of me typing this.

Is it dieing or maybe something wrong with one of the cables or maybe my Video card? (I doubt video card though...)

I have had this Monitor for about 2 Years now, so maybe it's about to kick the bucket, just asking if anyone has had this happen to them and if it's fixable or not.

This is the monitor: Advent LM1704B http://www.computermonitors.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/advent-lm1704b-17inch-computer-monitor.jpg

well if the monitor isn't showing anything but the light is green then you can send it to be repaired Smile (or you could just throw it away and buy a new monitor Tongue), what you say there just indicates that something has gotten damaged in your monitor Smile

Lol, well now that it's daytime, I finally saw that it's the back light that stops working and it stopped working for good now, So I'm using my LCD TV as a PC monitor. Lol

This happened to an old ViewSonic of mine. It was not fixable and they ended up sending me a refurb'd unit. I caused it by touching the DVI port with my finger after walking around on the carpet with no shoes on. Needless to say static and monitors do not mix. In your case it could simply mean that the backlight is burning out and needs to be replaced - that is easy enough to do.

Maybe your monitor really has a repair to a professional. If you don't want to too just replace it to new one. It is up to you my friend it is your own choice what you must to do.
