Modifier range key not saving?

Currently using a keyboard, can't afford a joystick. When I try to configure the range on the modifier key, and hit save, the changes don't actually save and revert back to 50. Is it possible to change this value using a keyboard?

Read the damn forum rules! They tell you to state your OS, Dolphin version, etc.
Telling us the version of Dolphin you are using should be common sense..

Anyways.. I'd guess you're on OS X? This is/was a known problem on OS X.
It is maybe fixed in recent revisions.

Try a recent revision or set the range manually in the ini file.
