Modifier button for Analog shoulder triggers?

Here is my problem:

I have a controller that only has digital shoulder buttons, no analog buttons. I have mapped L and R to these buttons. This is fine for most Dolphin games, but for Super Mario Sunshine, it becomes unplayable, since it's registered as a full 100% analog press and there is no way to fire water and run at the same time.

So, I was wondering if there was a way to either:

1. Map a key to register a L/R press that only goes 50% of the way down

-or-

2. Map a key to be a modifier for the L and R buttons (i.e. pressing the shoulder buttons without it pushed only registers 50%, but when pressed it registers 100%).

My google searches have found nothing, so hopefully someone here can help me out.

The L/R on GC controllers have 2 parts, one analong (what you want) and one you reach the end there is a physical button that is pressed (what you are doing now). You can configure a button as L/R Analog, but I'm not sure is the game cares how far you press as long as you don't press the button at the end.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. Pressing the actual button will stop Mario and zoom in, and if you do a 100% analog press without pressing the button, it still stops Mario, but it won't zoom in.

If you right-click the buttons for mapping L/R-Analog it will bring up an advanced mapping window with support for some logic operations.

You can do things like this to require pressing two buttons: `Button 0` & `Button 1`
And for pressing one button but not another button: `Button 0` & !`Button 1`

There you can also set the "Range" to 50 for a 50% press.

Ah, I was looking for that, but I was expecting it to be where threshold is.
