So the ATI 10K requirements means SM2.0a is supported but not SM2.0b then? But then you GF6 listed so is SM3 is the min required now? Or is that cause even even if can run on a FX no sane person should?

??????
Both support shader model 3.0. The minimum video cards I listed were based off of user reports and wiki entries (users who reported being able to use dolphin without any strange error messages that clearly indicate an issue with the graphics hardware). Geforce fx and earlier users as well as ATI x800 and earlier users have reported error messages related to graphics hardware. GMA series gpus will run dolphin but you will run into issues such as depth calculation issues in some games, I decided to list them anyways since I'm not sure which IGP is required to prevent these issues. Sandy bridge IGP probably works fine *shrugs*.

This along with Sonicadvance1's comment "we need PS2.0a/b minimum" implies FX and x700/x800 are compatible?

Maybe. But I have yet to see a post by someone with either series saying everything runs fine. But I have seen several posts by people with geforce fx cards that have reported issues and crashes. Plus didn't they bump up the requirement to SM 3.0 recently?

I think if I recall (don't count me on this) d3d9 now requires SM 3.0 while openGL still works with SM 2.0a/b but some games still have problems on cards that don't support SM 3.0.
I need some kind of confirmation that dolphin works fine on these cards before I change the minimum requirements listed. Edit: I went ahead and made the changes but I am still hoping for some kind of confirmation.

It says here that a hd5750 is good for up to 7.5m, is this really true? I have a hd4870 and max out at 3xefb (~3m) before dropping frames, but most benchmarks put my card roughly on par with a 5770, which is even better. So are the new 5 and 6 series AMD cards really that much better in Dolphin? Im thinking a 5750 would be great for a htpc build if those numbers are correct

It's probably incorrect (my numbers that is). I'm still tweaking it and those numbers were probably interpreted from the tomshardware benchmark charts. Unfortunately I don't think I have enough data from the dolphin gpu benchmark project to complete the list.
Edit: Looking at the benchmark results now. It seems to put a 4870 around 4.0MP and a 5770 at 5.0MP. I would expect a 5750 to fall in between somewhere.
