Hello, all. Thought I'd try my question here. So I'm told that my build isn't the best for running Dolphin, and when trying to play games, it shows. Assuming playing with the settings doesn't fix anything, what would the more computer-savvy of you do? For example, say I tasked you with replacing my CPU and/or GPU, and keeping the rest of my laptop the same. What would you pick, within reason? I'm interested to see your guys' thoughts, and thanks for the help in advance!

If you can disassemble your laptop with ease and your CPU is not soldered to the mobo then ...Technically , you can upgrade it
GPU ? In most case , it's impossible to do it unless your GPU is MXM type which is removable . Gaming laptop that has one of those GPUs are very expensive I assume the specs in your profile is the laptop you're talking about . It's APU type (CPU and integrated GPU in CPU die) APU is a combination of a weak CPU and a somewhat ok GPU . Even if you're able to upgrade to the top of the line APU , its CPU performance is below most Core i3 chip (only faster than ultra low voltage i3) which is low end http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-A-Serie...882.0.html In other word , no way it could be good for Dolphin if you need to run Dolphin well on a laptop , I think you should aim for sth like this at least : Quad Core i5 6300HQ + GTX 960M ($800 Dell 7559 ) Laptop: Mini PC :: 05-15-2016, 01:58 PM
Or you could build a $400 desktop(without keyboard , mice and monitor) that could run 95 -> 99% of games fullspeed though it's not as fast as the $800 laptop I posted
For Example : i3 6100 Asrock H110M mobo GTX 750 EVGA 430W 80 Plus Crucial DDR4 2x4GB 2133MHz PC Case is up to you Laptop: Mini PC :: 05-15-2016, 10:10 PM
And if you want a desktop that performs as well as the most high-end Intel CPUs in Dolphin, an overclocked G3258 + GTX 750 Ti would work just as well for ~$300.

Can confirm. I've yet to play a game on my HTPC that my HTPC G3258 at 4.5 ghz couldn't play at full speed. Granted it's also paired with a GTX 770.
