Yeah it makes no sense to me, but there it is. Whether it's an issue with my mobo or a combination of c states with other settings, I have no idea.

All I know for certain is that they were causing problems for me, so maybe it does for others too.

If you overclock, sleep states and other power features can cause problems particularly if your overclock isnt dialed in correctly.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. Care to elaborate?

My issue was with power saving c states, what does that have to do with locking threads?

Anyways like I said before, if I turn of c3 and c6 I can leave hyperthreading on with no issues.

Because of the suggestions of others I decided to do some more testing and found that it still isn't smooth with no overclocking and speedstep disabled.

With c states on the fps drops even though it shows 60 vps and 100 percent speed.

Can anyone else with a similar cpu (i7 2600k) test this out?
