Micro build, should I add GPU?

Hey!

I have finally built a dedicated dolphin-box to have next to my PS4.

When building i tried to mimic ETA primes microbuild: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLX2dmioC10

I am currently able to run: Mario Sunshine in 4k with about 25-30 fps and Mario Galaxy in 1080p with almost stable 30 fps.

Both results were in Open GL.

My wish is to play most stable games on both systems in 4k.

Is it possible to tinker with the settings to achieve stable 4k or should i stump for a dedicated GPU and in that case what should u go for?

See build below. Thanks in advance!

Chassi: Fractal Design Define Nano S

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3200G Processor with Radeon™ Graphics 4 cores / 4.0 GHz'

PSU: Corsair CV550 550W

SSD: Toshiba OCZ TR200 480GB

Board: MSI B450I GAMING PLUS AC

Ram: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2666Mhz CL16 Vengeance

Use Vulkan or D3D on the latest development build, operating system won't matter (beyond enabling D3D availability). Your performance will be fine

Hey!

Thanks for your answer.

Performance is fine for the most, but buffing Galaxy above 1080 is impossible, even on Vulkan.

Is there a GUP that I could add to achieve stable 4k on a game like that, that would fit my system?

Your case seems to support full size, dual slot GPUs just fine, so almost any model should fit.

I particularly would recommend a GTX 1050 Ti or a GTX 1650 (I heard there's a new GDDR6 variant of it on stores, but the GDDR5 version should be fine too), as they are small and efficient enough to not need an external power connector from the PSU, while still being more than enough for 4k in Dolphin with virtually any game.

If you want to stick with AMD, their equivalent RX 500 cards should be good too (RX 560 or RX 570, I think), however they are more power hungry and might require a beefier GPU than you currently have...
