Good lord. Whatever you do upgrade that monitor before upgrading anything else. Used 22"-24" 1080p monitors are ridiculously cheap these days.
i dont think his graphics card would be able to handle 1080p native very well espically with that much vram since its an older card (emulation might be fine but regular gaming forget about it).
