although its probably not a glitch but just a problem with my controller config but in metriod other M once i use the examine mode it stays like that permanently, the only way to stop the examine mode is by using controls like swinging the wiimote or using the "hide" command but that only works while im holding the button down, once i let go th examine mode comes back up even after going through cut scenes.
is there a way to turn examine mode on and off with just keyboard and mouse? (im aware that the game works great on an xbox controller but unfortunately i dont have one.)

The game will be in that mode as long as the Wii Remote is pointing on the screen, and if you don't want that to happen, you'll need to trigger Hide. I don't think there is a way to switch Hide on and off with a button press, but what you can do is map Hide to the inverse of a button (by putting a ! before the button name) so that Hide will be triggered all the time except when you're holding down the button. This is the same with both keyboard/mouse and Xbox controllers.

To give a bit more detail, JosJuice is talking about right clicking on the control to add advanced configuration options in the controller configuration window.
