Hello everyone,

I've been wanting to play Metroid: Other M for a while now, yet when I play it from my old Dolphin 3.5-367 there are this horrible noises that don't let me play at all and when I try to open the Iso on the newest version of Dolphin it doesn't even work: Only the first screen with the playing indications show up and then it goes black. I have the european Iso of the game.

I'd really appreciate any help you could give.

You probably have a bad dump. Right-click it in the game list, click Properties, go to the Filesystem tab, right-click whatever partition seems to be the game partition, and click Check Partition Integrity. If it says anything's broken, your dump's bad and you'll have to redump the game (re-copy it from the original disc). For best results, use CleanRip on a softmodded Wii, and dump the game to an NTFS- or FAT32-formatted USB storage device with at least 8 GB of free space.

I think you mean NTFS, not NTSC :p

Ah, yeah, sorry, I was writing that reply to that NTSC vs. PAL guy's thread at the same time, and I guess it slipped in here. :P

Yeah I did that and there were no errors found... so what else could it be? Thanks anyway.

Use an MD5 hash calculator (just google for one) to find the hash of the ISO you have, then put the hash you get into google. If the ISO is a bad dump, you'll get no results; if it's a good dump, you should get redump.org and gametdb.com results for Metroid Other M. Do that and you can be absolutely sure it's a good dump.

Well thanks for your advice, I did use a calculator and my dump turned out to be good so now I have no idea what the problem could be, as I said before I can't play the game on newest versions of Dolphin cause the screen goes black almost immediately after the safety instructions, why is this happening?

There are 1400 revisions inbetween 3.5-367 and latest. I the latest dev version is giving you trouble yet 3.5-367 works, there are plenty of builds inbetween for you to try.

Well, that's a lot of revisions, however I don't think checking on them will work since I already tried some revisions older than the last one and still got nothing, so I guess I'll just have to abandon the idea of playing this game. Thanks anyway for your help.
