Hi,

I finally got Other M and loaded the Xbox 360 Controller profile from [Tutorial]Make Mettroid Other M Full playable on Gamepad! I started it up and got to the training where everything seemed fine until I had to go into Search View. I tried holding Trigger L, holding Button Y, and every button on the controller.

Nothing works. I have tried manually putting in the input. I have made sure it wasn't the controller acting up.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks!

Okay, so I tried a few other things and realized that the keyboard had no issue, but this didn't help.

The solution was going back to the stable build of Dolphin 3.5. Once I loaded the profile, everything was recognized just fine and I could get passed the training exercises. I did try the last stable build of Dolphin (4.0.2), but this had the same problems as the build I have previously used (4.08x from a couple days ago).

I had forgot that some problems can be solved by going back to older builds. Not sure if I should list this as a problem for newer builds somewhere... In either case, this thread can be closed.

The controller profile you downloaded was made back in the age of 3.0. That it doesn't work in newer versions is most likely not a problem with newer builds, but rather a side effect of Dolphin changing throughout the years.

I apologize for necroing this thread, but I'm having the exact same problem on 5.0 with Other M. If I just copied the layout from the profile, without using the profile - is it safe to say that would solve my problems? I.e, being able to use an xinput controller for Other M. Thanks in advance!

Probably, but I can't guarantee it. If it doesn't work, you might need to make some small adjustments on your own.
