I changed the select screen icon to reflect the gravity suit. It should only appear after the gravity suit is unlocked in game:

I also recolored the suit to find a purple that balanced better with the game's original yellow, red, and neon green (not easy). I tried a lot of colors, even sampling the hues from Super Metroid's sprite, but (in my opinion) this was the only shade that both looked good with the rest of the suit and matched the game's loud color palette; I like it a lot.

The zip below includes all of the files for this version of the mod. Thanks to hyperspeed for including my mods in the post. Hopefully this is the last tweak and I can finally play the damn game now...

If anyone's curious, this is what the Super Nintendo colors looked like mapped to Other M's suit.
Awesome work @Nerrel Cool , if you want, you could give Blue lights on the Gravity Suit, it will look so amazing.

Here some examples:

Take a look on the blue lights, this one looks really cool, I found this image on google, I don't know if it is a photoshop image or not

I tried doing blue lights when I sampled the colors from Metroid Prime, but it doesn't worK:

Those textures had the exact shade of blue from the Prime suit, but it turned out like this in-game. You can impact the tint a little, but the base color always stays green. I checked for any other textures that might be adding that green tint and found nothing; unless I'm missing something, I think the Other M shot you posted must be a photoshop.

Even if you could get the neon green out of the visor and lights you'd to have to edit the arm cannon, speed booster, and plasma beam textures too to completely get rid of it. I think it looks alright in my last upload, having a louder purple makes the green stand out less.

I do think it's funny that that Other M shot had almost the exact shade of purple I used; I guess it's not just my taste alone. Tongue

Then you probably have another region version of the game. I don't know if R3OE01 is the ID for the PAL or NTSC version but you need to rename the folder and all files (use a tool for that) to your game's ID. You can see it when reght-clicking on the game and clicking "Properties"

New pack download here.

It contains a big update and expansion that goes beyond just the suit.  The file names are now compatible with Dolphin's new naming convention and the suit has been tweaked a little more (I swear, I'm done fucking with it this time):

_______________________________________________________________
The suit textures for the regular power suit and varia suit have also been improved by switching to the cutscene textures, which are 2x the res of the in-game assets.  It makes the contours a lot cleaner when close-up:

___________________________________________________________________
I also tried my hand at improving some of the environmental textures that bugged me the most.

I made an HD starfield to replace the low res ones used in the game.  This applies to the title screen and windowed areas of the ship.

New title

Old skylight
New skylight

Old bridge
New bridge

I tried my best to clean up some of the plants in sector one, as they're the worst textures in the entire game.  The results are modest, but better defined:
Plant 1
Plant 2

The backdrop for the rainforest area was a very low res photograph of a single tree.  I tried searching online but couldn't find the source (I'm not as good as the RE4 HD guys).  I blended a suitable stock photo in instead:
Old 1
New 1

Old 2
New 2

Old 3
New 3

I overhauled the field area with by blending some stock photos with the original textures:
Old
New

The desert backdrop was also updated with a stock photo:
Original dunes
New dunes

Finally, the snowflakes in sector 2 were replaced, as the originals were MS-paint level bad.  I used an ice crystal photo as a replacement:
Old snowflake
New snowflake

I've never really done this kind of texture modding before, so let me know what you think.   Hopefully you'll enjoy them.

Hey, good stuff!
Surely, there's still some room for improvement (like on those plants Wink ) but everything you've done is a clear improvement over the original textures.
I have actually yet to play through this game so I'll surely use your texture pack then Smile
