Is there any solution for the freezing and sound loss/breaking in cutscenes? I can't seem to find the fix for this issue. I've checked on multiple revs of Dolphin (from 2.0 - 4838 - 6117 to the latest) and still no luck to see any cutscene without a permanent freeze.

My specs:
Intel Q6600@3.2Ghz
Radeon 4850 1Gb
4Gb DDR3 Ram

Looking forward for any solutions

I've been testing the game for a few days on a couple of newer REV's and i'm getting full speed ingame, and everything is perfectly playable. Cut scenes are a little bit slower, but on REV 6267 very watchable.

My problem is with random crashing in cut scenes. After a minute or two sound will be off, and then after a few seconds the game will freeze. This happens only in cut scenes. Anyone else having the same problems, or is it just me?? I've played through original MGS quite a few times, but i want to watch cut scenes anyway. It's just not the same if you skip them :/
Specs:
E8400 @ 3.0 ghz
4 GB RAM
GTX 260 (216 SP)

Not just you - I'm having exactly the same problem, rev 6266 MGS PAL version....

Yeh, I get the same problem. If someone can identify the revision where this hang first occurred, I can take a look at it.

Safe texture cache did seem to help, but it still hung after a while.

I've tried it on the newest revision. It runs slower than normal, but close to full. Biggest issue is that, as said before, the game hangs in absolutely any cut scene that you allow to run. If you skip them, you can play the game, but if you don't do so once the sound cuts out, it will hang soon after. The sound is also kind of static like, but that might only be on my end. I don't see myself doing a run through personally until it's fixed up, as I would miss out on all the re-made 6th generation graphics version of MGS. The game looks absolutely great(I only played it on the PS1, never got this remake); I'll sure be waiting for it to come around.(This and Rogue Ops are on the top of my list I'm waiting for.)

Not keeping any old consoles only goes so far, sadly Gamecube is one we just need to stomach and go pick back up.

Haven't tested the game on the latest dolphin rev but it used run great, despite the crashes.

I use this settings
in basic settings enable dual core and idle skipping, in advanced settings enable all, disable panic handlers, use dsp-hle as dsp plugin and opengl for graphics
the opengl config are: 2x, fullscreen, auto scale, 1x asintropic filter
you need to enable safe texture cache so it doesn't crash during the donald anderson video, but I disabled it after that since the thermal goggles were unusable

btw I've managed to get to the end of the game, but during the car section the car goes inside a wall on the left and I can't get any further
How do you manage to Beat Psycho Mantis???

Hi again people i just switched from my hardware to intel core i5 platform and i tried to emulate MGS TTS but after i run the iso under dolphin r5152 x64 (by Orleans) instantly this error pops up:

backpatch base not reg RBX
attempt to acces xxxxxxx

i hit [ok] and then:

backpatch currently only supporting reads

i hit [ok] once more and then:

WRITE - invalid adress xxxxxxxx

i hit [ok] 50 times more and then

backpatch no support for operand size 1

[ok]

sometimes some error to compile blablabla comes up too, but not every time
After ton of this errors game freezes on KONAMI or blackscreen after it, or sometimes CTD.

And one more thing - i manually changed extension of MGSTTS iso from .mdf to .gcm but i think that isn't the problem.

OK NEVERMIND

ON x32 version of the same build game runs normally but sound is stuttering and i have 30 fps but it feels a little like Snake is running in slow-motion/bullet-time. Someone can post how to configure emulator for TTS? I would be greateful.

Hi all!

Apologies if I seem like I'm reviving an old thread, but I've only just found this emulator. It'll be great for playing all my old gamecube games on those spells away from home with no access to my Wii!

I've just downloaded the x64-r7257 version and The Twin Snakes seems to run almost perfectly, provided I use D3D9 rather than D3D11, which seems to cause major slowdowns.

The only issues I seem to be experiencing are,

1) The codec background screen is all green and sort of...segmented, but I can live with that. It's only the background when I have the codec open, and the character images and text are all perfectly readable.

2) And this is the only real problem I've had, with the in-game radar. For some reason, the character dots don't appear. There's no green dot for Snake, and the enemies don't have a red dot. I can see the blue Field of Vision cones, but not the location dots.
I've tried playing around with the settings, but whilst that's gotten me pretty much perfect speed, I just can't get those darn dots to appear.
I did try with the x86 revision aswell, but still got the exact same error.

I've attached a screenshot of the radar so you can see what I mean.

Don't suppose anyone has any suggestions? ^^

Oh, and since it seems to be the common thing when asking questions like these, the build for my laptop

CPU - i7 Q840
RAM - 8GB DDR3
GFX - 2x ATi 5870 1GB in xfire
OS - Windows 7 HP 64-bit

I have strange graphic glitches in Cutscene at the begin with the Hind-D colored strips and so.
