Quote:It seems the Metal Gear game fans have been waiting for has been finally announced at Konami's Metal Gear 25th Anniversary event: Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes.

The unveiling consisted of a real-time demo, but at this stage all English language reports about what was shown have come through Twitter. Guests were reportedly asked not to post about what they were seeing, but many did so anyway. While some posts were deleted within minutes, the picture that emerged is that Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes is an open-world game and was reportedly demoed on a current-gen PC.

It's also running on the new FOX Engine and has left those at the event amazed.

Avi Arad (X-Men, Iron Man, The Amazing Spider-Man) will be producing and was on stage at the event.

There will also be a smartphone version called Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops coming soon. Very exciting news for MG fans like myself!

Let's hope the movie won't be an epic fail

I doubt Kojima will allow that to happen.

I'd watch it even if it were bad :/ Been waiting for this for like ages. Though in my mind, it would be better to not have this movie filmed in live-action. I'd like a MGS movie done entirely from 3D models (realistic MGS4?). The reason for this is David Hayter's voice is Solid Snake for me. If it's just some actor that looks like Snake, but doesn't sound like him, the whole experience is ruined. Using 3D models, you get the look of Solid Snake that's familiar to gamers, and you could easily get Hayter's voice for the movie (show him the money), plus all of the impossible action sequences from the games without cheesy special fx. MGS4 was basically a movie that you played, so why not just make a MGS movie by cutting out all gameplay? Simple, no? :p

With the large number of video game to movie adaptations and vice versa i'm not expecting much

They finally released some footage of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero to the public. It's a 15 minute demo of the game.
Check it out on IGN.
