Memory cards and netplay

Hey guys first post new to Dolphin, and i would like to play online with some mates but am confused with some of the dolphin settings. Memory cards seem to be an important one and the wiki says use memory card. By default its set to GCI in the options what option is this and what makes it different from Memory card? Would graphics settings have an impact on netplay if we use different settings there too? Can GCI files be put in the gamecube memory card manager? Do want to pick up a 100% save file from gamefaq for when we play as well and they all seem to be GCI.

EDIT: Since i made a save file with the game i want to play online and i downloaded another GCI fom gameFAQ it came up with not loading one file because the other has the same internal filename. Whats that about?

Okay, so, what you want to do is delete/remove any other savefiles with the same name if you're attempting to use one online. The same internal filename means that two GCIs are essentially the same thing, which the memory card/GCI folder can't happen.

Dolphin's netplay will automatically sync the host's memory card OR GCI files with clients in the latest development builds. Graphics Settings can impact syncing, but the latest development builds should automatically sync most important settings. You can also use Strict Settings Synchronization is problems persist.
