Memory card TAS desync? (Not Online)

So I'm trying to TAS this GameCube game with Dolphin (version 4.0-2178). Before I start TASing, I have both memory cards disabled. Dual Core and Idle Skipping are also disabled and audio is set to LLE.

Now, In the TAS, the game reports that there is no memory card present (which sounds all fine and dandy) and I select "continue without saving" both times the option is presented, and then I go to the first level as normal.

However, when I try to play back that same movie, it presents a different set of options as though there was a memory card inserted, causing a desync! (Load/New Game/Continue Without Saving). The memory card wasn't even inserted during recording!

Any help getting my head around this would be greatly appreciated!

Okay, so for some reason, I have to re-select the "nothing" option in the Memory Card section of the Config tab (even though it's already selected when I play the movie) and I have to do so while the movie is playing and I have to repeat this for each subsequent time I want to play the movie. Anyone know what might be causing this problem?

Sounds like the dtm is loading up the wrong settings. That could be a serious issue, or just some uninitialized memory, or a minor oversight in the configuration options.

Can you find out when this started happening?

Okay, so I did a fresh install of Dolphin (4.0-2238) and I'm still having the same problem, so it must be my DTM file and not Dolphin's settings.

I even did a new recording just to be sure and it synced just fine.

So, that particular DTM file is having a bad setting set?

I was almost sure it was the DTM, but I'm not sure how it could have been if my other games were doing the same thing. And if it was the memory card, how come my run that desyncs on 2178 still desyncs on 2238? Very confused right now :S

Well, it's normal for dtm's to desync on versions they're not recorded on. The DTM format changed not too long ago as well. Could be a bug from the changeover maybe.

If you record another DTM, does it work fine and use your settings properly? Or does it have the same bug?

Works fine for me. You must have had one inserted when you first started recording the movie. You'll need to edit the header in the dtm file, info here http://tasvideos.org/DTM.html

That fixed it! Just had to change the "Memory Card present" value from 01 to 00, and now my movie syncs as it should. Thanks!
