Memory card Issues

I'm currently trying to play Zelda Wind Waker. I've looked through various threads already and can't find a solution to my problem.
When I start the game, it tells me that there is nothing in Memory Card A.
So I downloaded a .gci file and place it in the User/GC folder. Except when I try to select the file path for the Memory Card A, it won't let me see the .gci, only .raw or .gcp. I attempted to use the Memcard Manager to import that file, but it's not working. The only button it allows me to click is "Convert GCI". So I click that, and the gci file shows up, but it just asks me to save it as a GCI file again. So it's not really helping the problem. I hope someone can help me. Thanks.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm using Dolphin 2.0. I'm quite new to this scene, (I do have experience with other emulators) but for Dolphin I am still getting used to it all. If I should be running a different version, someone please let me know. Thanks!

Interesting, I have never had this issue.
Post your DL link for where the file came from on the internet.
I will see if your issue occurs on my pc and work from there.

The gci file? I got it from gamefaqs. But it's alright I got it working on my own. Althought the graphics are too messed up to even play. Can't even see any people except for their eyes.
