I doubt flickering would be a concern. mi mix2 video is from late 2017. until now dolphin as well phone android system have newer versions and surely this would be gone right now.

Android phones are (slightly pessimistically) designed to last for exactly the time of a benchmark run (a couple of minutes at most) at full speed before throttling. Even then, putting my phone (sd835) based in the freezer at home and letting it cool down below ambient gives it a ~20% boost in 3dmark mobile scores. Also, with driver bugs and issues, different versions of the dolphin emulator and driver on the device can cause unexpected issues - some specific combinations (even of older versions) may happen to avoid bugs, or hit others, in a way that is pretty much impossible to predict. Even different scenes in the same game may hit different issues. Android drivers are still the wild west as far as quality is concerned - it's a bit like rolling the dice on if a specific game/device/driver version/dolphin version combination will work well or not.
However it's incedible.. this is the official android forum but none in this world wanna try to play this game one minute??? Need u a paypal donation???

There are currently no Android Developers for Dolphin except for maybe JohnnyH and even he tries to explain to you why you shouldn't want to play on an Android device right now. Let me summarize it for you once more: 1. The SoC's in a Mobile Phone/Device are too slow 2. The Drivers for the GPU in the SoC's are broken 3. The thermal profile on mobile devices is bad, meaning: you can run the game for 5 minutes at full speed and then it halves the performance or worse. It does this to save battery, prevent overheating and you burning your hands while holding your phone and to avoid breaking the device. 4. To make it run at a decent performance you need to change a lot of settings or use an older (and unsupported) build of Dolphin. The changing of settings will break most games and old versions of Dolphin will have bugs solved in newer versions. These two points are true for ANY mobile phone/device that run Android on the market right now, no amount of begging, pleading or donations will change that. The problem with Android is that the market is segmented, meaning: 1. Every device has a different Android with often even a different skin 2. Every Android version has different drivers for the GPU 3. Even the same Device with the same Android can have different drivers for the GPU with different issues. 4. Even the same Device with the same Android with the same drivers but on a different Provider can have influence because lot of providers install their own bloatware on the devices they sell, this can affect performance and glitches. So even if someone tested the game for you on their device, there is no guarantee it will even work/start on yours.

They use settings that will break games (eventually) and only show the parts where they can actually hit full speed, and they don't play the games long enough for the thermal protection to step in to prevent the device from overheating.

Hi, today I had the possibility to test dolphin on a mi mix 2, changing the default settings games like MOHF and resident evil 4 seems to be playable.... so Techutopia says the truth!! 05-23-2018, 01:16 PM

But often those default settings you change (like the cpu underclock feature) can cause game breaking bugs or other unexpected behaviour. It may appear to be fine on many games, it may be you never hit any problems, but its somewhat dangerous and thus not recommended. There's nothing more frustrating than getting your game into a non-completeable state. |
