Which one is better to get and why? I don't care about the price, only the features and what it can do.

A 3rd party option never is better than the official product in most cases, and that's apply to the GameCube adapter as well...

To be fair, I got the PC/USB + Wii U variant a few days ago, and ended up using Wii U mode on it. Following the instructions Dolphin had to use the official Nintendo hardware seemed to be the simplest way of getting it setup if all you intend to do is use it for Dolphin.

I guess it depends on what you want to do with it -- the PC usb version can register a controller driver for each of the individual controllers, so if you're looking to use it for more than just Dolphin, I guess it'd be the better choice, as it's at least as good as the Wii U -> Gamecube only version.

The real question is does the Mayflash adapter support the threading option for faster input speed under the controller options?

I'm not able to see any type of "controller threading" setting anywhere, and don't think I've ever seen an option like that before. Could you clarify where I'd find or be able to confirm this?

It works with Dolphin and my Wii U on Wii U mode, I got it just because it was cheaper and I didn't know at the time Dolphin could use the licensed one.
It works for my needs, definitely.

I remember reading somewhere that Mayflash adapter doesn't handle calibration internally and this may cause issues in some games. I don't know if we have a workaround implemented in Dolphin or not, so, this is something to take in consideration too...
