Mayflash GameCube Adapter Analog Stick Movement Issue (I think)

Hello everyone,

So I recently purchased the Mayflash GameCube adapter since I had a spare GC controller laying around and figured "why not use it with Dolphin"? I got everything set up, but when I play a game, there is movement in game like the analog stick is stuck in one direction. It's not constant, it just moves by itself from time to time. The game I was playing was Sonic Gems Collection, in the menu to choose a game, it would scroll down without me touching the analog stick. In Sonic R, when I go to select a character, I can scroll to the right to any of the four available characters, but if I sit there for a minute, it scrolls all the way to the left to the first character. In game, it does the same thing, while I'm racing, there are periods of turning left randomly.

To check if it was the controller and not the adapter, I played the same game on my Wii and everything worked fine.

So basically my question is, is the adapter doing this or is it Dolphin and there's a way to fix it? Thank you to anyone who can help me out, I appreciate it.

It's most likely an issue with your system.

This happens when something is causing Dolphin to lose its handle to the USB device. Could be drivers or other programs. This seems to happen pretty often on Windows. :/

I had the same problem with a Mayflash adapter after using it perfectly fine for months, and fixed it by blowing air into the adapter ports and the controller plug. I assume dust or something got inside and was messing up the connection, but it worked fine after that

Thanks for the replies, it would be a shame if it's my system, I figured it was just a faulty adapter, I did try blowing air into the ports and the controller plugged but it didn't work. When I tried it with another game (Mario Kart Wii) it actually made Dolphin choppy and would not let me choose any character and when I finally could and started a race, it was a constant right turn.

I hope it's fixable in the future.

There is nothing Dolphin can do to fix this if it really is the issue I think it is.

Let's confirm that it is a system issue first though: can you enable all log types and set the log level to INFO, then reproduce the disconnecting issue and post logs?

I apologize, I should have been more specific, in case it was an issue with compatibility with my system, I meant that I hoped Mayflash would be able to fix it with a new driver or revision.

I actually got it working properly now (so far anyways), I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner, I was using a USB 3.0 port on the front of my PC, the idea just came to me to try a USB 2.0 port in the back of my computer, so I did that and had no issues at all. Idk if it was because I was using USB 3.0 or if it works better being plugged in directly to the computer in the back? If that fixes the issue, I feel bad about Amazon sending me another one when I thought the product was defective, maybe I was just using it wrong lol.
