Hi, I have recently purchased the Mayflash 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box from amazon. It works okay for the most part but there is a small input lag.. I realized this when trying to play Brawl and Melee with Brawl being the absolute worse with not having the character do anything until literally a 1/3 to a 1/2 of a second after a button press. I don't know if it's supposed to work like this but can anyone confirm or deny whether or not they have input lag as well? I know it's specific to this adapter because I receive absolutely no input lag at all with my 360 controller. Also, when configuring the controller in the device manager, there does not seem to be input lag at all. Any and all help is appreciated and thank you in advance if there is anyone that can help.

Its virtually impossible for you to notice any lag with a usb device. In the amount of time your talking about the host would give up waiting. It must have to do with you system in some way or another. Its posible its a driver issue I but can not confidently saw what. Have you tried another HID style controller.

These games are known to have input lag when played on HDTV's but I honestly wasn't sure if this would carry over to Dolphin. Either way, it's really only a problem on these two games and it's adaptable.
Yes a refresh rate will show signs of lag, no question there. I think you can rule out the usb device. I dont know much about TV but you would want a high refresh rate for a game like that. Also its quite possible the game just has issues with your hardware ( as far as emulation goes ). What hardware do you run, anything in the ivy/sandy bridge side of the world?

What hardware do you run, anything in the ivy/sandy bridge side of the world?I am using an i5 2500k at stock with a GTX 465. The game runs 60 fps that's not the problem at all. Earlier today I tried playing with a CRT monitor instead of my HDTV as suggested by other people and it seemed to be much better.
the FPS the game is running at has nothing to do this it? Its your monitor refresh rate that is key. If the game runs at 60 but the monitor only runs at 40 you will visually see less frames.
frame 1 User pressed button frame 2 not render on TV yet but rendered on emulator. frame 3 not render on TV yet but rendered on emulator. Frame 4 TV catches up and you see the jump ( delay ) main page Working controllers 04-12-2013, 02:39 AM

You may need to ask a monitor expert but a flat screen 60, may not be true 60. I cant really say for sure. Can you try to get the game to run better then 60? Always good to let it run a bit faster. Can your monitor handle higher? The average person can see 17 ms apart. Some can see 15. I would guess you could train your self to see 13 but I doubt it.
Think of it this way. 16.6ms between each frame would be 60 fps. 75 would be 13 ish. The adult brain takes about 2ms to response to an event. touching a hot oven, would be about 5 events to processed. so a joystick 1 Tell your brain to press a button. 2 brains tells finger to move ( assuming you dont have to first look ) 3 finger moves ( this could take up to 4 ms depending ) 4 brain register finger pressed button 5 brain tells eyes to look for response. 6 brain renders image ( not sure but guess at lease 2mn , bet its more) 6 brain process "yes" I jumped Yes a bit crud but you gets the idea, that adds up to 16 by my count. Get an idea of all that all works?, so Yes 60 is a bit slow for smash brothers IMO. Anything lower is to slow. main page Working controllers 04-13-2013, 02:32 AM
I can understand what you're saying, but by this point it's probably a better idea to just deal with the small bit of delay or just go back to playing on the Gamecube.
