I thought as much, actually. I don't mind using a lower IR for that matter. And anyway, since I have a native resolution of 1600x900, games look good enough with Window Size or 2x. Thanks for the replies!

tev_fixes_new increased GPU requirements. It's just that the GPU had like, nothing to do with performance before that.

What's strange on my end is that instead of being consistently slow, mine starts out bearable and then slows down to nothing.

Same happens on my end too though, for instance, on the first level of GoldenEye (the tutorial) starts at 30, then slows to 20, then back to 30 and so. No temp problems, only lowering the IR helps.

Mine goes to however far it used to run before this issue and then gradually slows down and down until I'm left with something like 7 FPS at the end of my patience.

(I always tried to push my system to the limit. Meaning I got a few frame hiccups here and there, but nothing serious like this.)

I was actually wondering. If I were to post a performance log, would someone be able to pinpoint the area where the slowdown is occurring? What boxes would need checking?

Okay. Now here's a REALLY strange development.

I booted up Xenoblade Chronicles again at my old settings just to see if I could bear it, and now like magic everything is back to normal! I can't have 8x Anti-Aliasing anymore and Per-Pixel Lighting with any type of Anti-Aliasing causes some slowdown. But other than that, I can run it at 3X IR and everything. I'm even getting some screen tearing with the V-Sync off, meaning my GPU is performing much better than it was just days ago.

Stupid computer.

I had that happen to me the other day. No idea what caused it or why.

Misery loves company?

At least I found something interesting during the whole ordeal. Having debilitating lag means you put in less gameplay and can really appreciate the scenery.
