OK,ok so can someone please explain why "overlay some statistics" gave me a massive FPS boost on my laptop...
Not only me but my little bro and another friend of mine (we all have intel duo's with Geforce cards).
My 2.1 duo laptop wasnt capable of running samurai heroes basara at 100% when there are enemies on the screen...it does now. Mariokart wii aswell.

Ive attached somescreen shots as proof.
It boosted my Mariokart wii from 60%-77%max to 90%-100% max in game. Max and min FPS were tested within 1 minute of observation. Only downside is that bright text gets annoying. Anyway to make the text clear?
I tried taking screen shots at the time all racers passed me by. I've also tired many times just in case. Also restarted Dolphin 5-6 times and ran the test everytime.

The revision im using in the screen shot is
Dolphin x64 SSE4.1 SVN revision 6075

Hopefully, with some tinkering, this will help devs speed games up a bit. Oh, it only works for a handfull of games. Also only some builds can do it, ranging from r4XXX to r6XXX.

I found that overlaying on r5721 speeds my punchout to about 95% ingame.

That's stunning, would be hard to believe without screenshots, but there they are.

Don't have a slow rig to test it on atm,
but would definitely be interesting to hear from a dev how this could be technically possible.

After all it does just that, displays stats about what the emu is doing. It shouldn't effect game speed

Hmm, there are quite some unexplainable things about the graphics plugins...this issue, and the one about emulation being faster when you start it in windowed mode and then switch to fullscreen instead of starting in fullscreen... O_o

Why do you have XFB and real XFB enabled? The games you are testing don't need XFB or Real XFB, so that may be what is causing your slowdowns. Although I'm not sure why overlay statistics causes a speedup for you, I tested on my end and it doesn't make any difference to game speed.

:Edit: Disable fog isn't needed either and makes very little difference, if any to performance. Native mips are only needed for a few games but should be disabled for other games, this option doesn't really affect performance but you might want to disable the option unless a game needs native mips.

hm, you tried several times, right? I just want to make sure this is not just the shader-cache-phenomenon...

did you try using the same build by Xtreme2damax?
I tried using different builds, but it only seems to work on some.
I'll try again with suggested screens

ok, so I tried turning both xfb off, I get about 2-4 more FPS thanks, will continue to use like this.

Edit: turning off both xfbs makes the overlay statistics thing not work anymore......now im confused

Anyways instead of using screenshots, I'd be so much better showing it in action. I posted a Youtube video here:

New video with enemies this time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCHJTm-GaD4

I think watching it in 480p might make it more clear. Sorry for the crappy camera.

HOLY HELL!!!!, dude. i have a crappy computer that jusy barely got any decent speed. With this download I got atleast 80% speeds. It goes between 75% to 80%. i dont have kart but, Basara is a go. still slows a bit when overcrowded. but way better than getting 5fps on crowd
