I am playing Mario Sunshine with a wired USB 360 controller but when I turn to the right or to the left, the camera also turns at the same time, making moving around extremely annoying. Does somebody know how to solve this?

Sounds like you bound the movement and the camera to the same stick in the config

Go into the Dolphin Emulated Wiimote Configuration Menu. Go into the Nunchuck menu. Assign the Nunchuck (Up, Down, Left, Right) movements to one joystick. The other joystick can be assigned under the "IR" part just do not assign anything the nun chuck is already assigned and also do not assign Up and FORWARD to the same joystick. I had the exact problem and that worked for me.

There you go. I should also say that when I move to the right or left, the camera spins to that direction, but if I go up or down, the camera doesn't zoom in or out, it stays where it is. 06-01-2014, 10:27 AM
I do have some experience with this, as I've had a similar problem. What helped for me, was to increase the deadzone of the "C" - stick. I would do so on the joystick as well. About 25 hit the sweet spot for me. Remember, the 360 joysticks are way more sensitive than the GC ones. I bought a converter, to use my GC controller with Dolphin, and I didn't have to do any adjustments to the deadzone.
EDIT: Off-topic, but I had to register just now, to post this response. The reason I bring that up, is because I was already a member here, I am 10000% sure of that. With the same email. What happened?! 03-26-2016, 06:07 AM
This actually IS a bug with the emulator. The movement felt very strange, so i looked at the original game on my Gamecube.
Original: if you push the stick left or right, Mario is running a very large circle except if you are running around a small object like a tree, then the circle is very small, exactly like in the emulator. Emulator: small circle every time, it doesn't matter if i run around an object or not. This is very annoying! Tried it with a XBOX 360 Wireless gamepad, a XBOX One Wireless Gamepad and finally an original Gamecube gamepad. All the same. It has nothing to do with the deadzone or any other setting you can set. The deadzone on the original gamecube is almost 0, as far as i tried it with multiple games. It definitely has something to do with the camera. The problem decreases if you max zoom out, but is still present. Pls fix this! |
