Gets stuck in black screen; Dolphin doesn't crash and will not progress forward.

Make sure your dump is good. You can verify the MD5 hash by comparing it with a database like Redump.org. Right-click the game in Dolphin, Properties -> Info -> Compute, and there's the hash for your game. If it doesn't match with Redump.org, you'll have to dump/rip Mario Tennis again from your disc.

I checked the MD5 and it matches. I don't think it's an issue with the dump, because I played on the exact same copy on my MacBook (which is broken now) and it worked fine.

A couple of questions:
1. Can you take screenshots of your settings and upload them to like Imgur or something and link them here? It'll make it a bit easier to see how you have everything configured.
2. Under Config > General, make sure the CPU engine is set to JIT Recompiler
3. If you right-click on a game and go to Properties, under Game Config > Core is the Synchronize GPU showing a black box, check, or blank?

I got the problem solved. The problem was that I chose "fake-completion" for the deterministic core; choosing "not set" fixed the issue and the game now plays normally. I know this isn't a big deal and can be easily worked around, but it will still be nice if this issue is fixed.

Thanks for helping

These settings are there for a reason, but using fake-completion isn't the accurate way, as it says in the name it is FAKE and only needed for a few games to run. Dev's please correct me if I'm wrong.
Check my profile for up to date specs.

It's not there for specific games to run, it's there as a way to get determinism without being quite as slow as single core, which only really matters for netplay and TASing. It does however have worse compatibility than both single core and regular dual core.
