The code for the wide-screen hack maybe, but what about the code to run the game in 60Hz?

Quote:The first only affects a certain number of people .. Depending on how imperative widescreen in MP games is, it might not be worthwhile to have it up on the wiki.
How do you know how many people are affected?
And it's not important how imperative something is, the more information are offered to people the better ..
Probably many people don't use Dolphin's widescreen-hack because it's causing so much issues and why shouldn't there be some solutions for it up in the Wiki?

And I also found this widescreen-AR-code for Windwaker and Mario Sunshine ..
For example you can use that swiss-GC to run Mario Sunshine in widescreen without having that nasty heat issue .. However there are still some other heat-issues in some parts of the game which are solved by using swiss-gc in combination with the AR-code ..

I haven't tested the effect on Windwaker yet, but I will ..
And I will do another comparison-video and post it here (from WW and SMS), even though nobody is interested .. as usual ..

60Hz isn't even part of the game natively. Again it'd be fixing an issue for an optional enhancement (i.e. the lack of PAL60 for GC games, or at least the MP games).

The wiki is generally meant to help with issues that everyone will encounter when playing a game. For people who don't bother with wide-screen (Personally, on GC games, I don't use it for reasons other than the fact that the widescreen hack is broken) or for people with smaller monitors (some people are still stuck on 1280x1024), the codes aren't going to be very useful. If they solved an issue that affects the entire game regardless of settings and enhancements, then it would benefit everyone if it were on the wiki. Again, I don't patrol the wiki like MaJoR or Kolano, so don't let me stop you. The wiki's not my domain.

The forums, however, are the perfect place for this type of info. We have tons of tutorials here already for various games, as well as numerous tips and tricks not recorded in the wiki (like the popular VBeam Trick). Contrary to what some people might think, this type of info isn't "lost" if it's not in a sticky or on the wiki. A quick Google search reveals this sort of info. Additionally, this type of information is exactly what the official game threads in Game Discussion were meant for. People do read the game threads after all, especially since the wiki links to them.

Hey, don't blame us if what you're investigating doesn't interest us :p Of course I'm joking, but by all means post a video. Again, this is the type of info that's better suited for the forums.

Ok, I don't really mind if it's now in the Wiki or here in the forums as a tutorial ..
My intention is just finding solutions for issues, no matter if they are famous or nobody-cares-issues and share my results with you and all other people who are using Dolphin ..
Perhaps I could do a complete tutorial video, but while I'm a very lazy person it may take some time Wink

Thanks anyway Shonumi Smile
