I think it is a matter if how many things are going on on the screen it is also very audio related. In a time trial for example, everything is running fine with no slowdown but in a grand prix, the audio stutters and the game with it. It is more present when multiple characters are on screen and they all make their own sounds.
It could be a bug with v4 builds but if all v4 releases give you this issue then it might be just that v4 is more accurate but slower for some games, unfortunately if this is this case then only upgrading the CPU or GPU will resolve this unless newer builds in the future improve the speed.
Ah well, its not a big problem, i'll just keep playing on 3.5 and i'll keep my eye out for new updates, i might also overclock my cpu and see how that goes. Thanks for all the help everybody!
Is Mario Kart the only game you see this issue with when comparing 3.5 and v4 speed? Because if all games give you similar results then I'd say it's definitely v4's increased accuracy behind it, but if only Mario Kart has the problem then it really could be a bug.
It is actually but i don't have alot of games to test, i have Super smash bros brawl and MK wii but SSBB runs fine on v4.0.2
Actually i was wrong, super smash runs horribly on 4.0.2 too, i'm begening to think it may be a bug. I runs badly with the same issues as mario kart wii!
Looks like it might not be a "cpu demanding" game issue after all, even though Mario Kart is more cpu hungry than other games but if the FPS difference between Dolphin v.35 and v4.0.2 is like 10 frames or more then I'd call it suspicious and lean towards a bug or a settings reconfiguration.
