It's really hard even coming back to this game after playing MK8 on Cemu. This game is just not very good in comparison. Good pack though keep it up.

What makes this game great and still relevant today is that there's over 500 tracks that you can download for it - many ported from other Mario karts, Diddy kong racing, etc. and many many that are as good as Nintendo made tracks. I agree, MK8 is still my favorite, but the replayability of a game with that many tracks is endless. :-) 04-21-2017, 12:10 AM
I'm a graphic designer and I'd like to contribute on this project. What do I need to do?

Download the latest version of this texture pack and install it. (That way you won't end up redoing textures that have already been done.)
From the graphics settings in Dolphin, turn on "dump textures". Then play Mario Kart for a few seconds, specifically the parts that you want to retexture. (The game might stutter more while you're dumping textures. The main menu is really bad because of all the videos playing. For Mario Kart Wii, I suggest turning on "dump textures" just before you load up a track.) Go to your Dolphin folder and find the textures that have been dumped. (For Mario Kart Wii, it's Dump/Textures/RMC***.) Pick one and redo it. This project seems devoted to making textures at 4x the original resolution. You can test your work by putting it in the appropriate Load folder, just like installing any other custom texture pack. (For Mario Mart Wii, it's Load/Textures/RMC) When you're done, post the file here. DON'T change the file name from its original name. 04-21-2017, 04:18 PM

New tracks come out daily here: http://wiki.tockdom.com/wiki/Main_Page Download the Mario kart fun 10-2016 distribution (the iso version) I've found that the colors are muted in general on Mario kart wii. I always use a different color profile to play (especially boosting the vibrancy). It makes it look a lot more like Mario kart 8. |
