Mario Kart DD Netplay with BBA

I'm looking to play Mario kart with my friends, but we are still trying to quarantine best we can. There are 5-7 of us, so we would need to play double dash using the BBA. My question (Before I start investing time in  figuring out how to make this work) is, is it possible to use the BBA over netplay to play with multiple consoles?

No, netplay and BBA emulation are not compatible with each other.

Gotcha, so then I would have to use the XLink Kai thing I saw on the dolphin wiki? Is that what I'm looking for?
