I am trying to do the surfing galaxy, and usualy just using my mouse serves as the wii remote.

but when the penguin tells me to "twist the remote to the left" it wont activate that i have done so.

Should it work just by moving the mouse to the left? what else can i do?

you can't do that as a mouse does not have an accelerometer. You must find someone with a wiimote to record the motion and send it to you and map it to a key or get a wiimote. Don't wiimote's come with wiis?

OR

You can use roll & pitch movements from Wiimote settings, there is roll movement used there.
