Since you weren´t using Ubershaders in 5.0, most of the game´s shaders have to be rebuilt again from scratch. You can enable them in latest dev though to get rid of it.

Ok, I will try those settings out next. What about audio.. if it's me or not, but audio seems more 'crackly'?

Make sure you're using the CubeB audio back-end. If it's still crackly, make sure you're running at full speed. If not at full speed, you can enable audio stretch

Will try the audio change next.. But a NO GO on galaxy 2 no matter what shader option I use.. in fact, exclusive slows it down to unplayable at times
