so i played the game on the regular 2.0 version. ran PERFECTLY with all the graphics stats maxed out (i was using the d3d plugin) and full screen at 1080p but mario's eyes were missing so i decided to get the newest rev. i could find (5524). so i put the same settings and configurations. good news is mario has his eyes! bad news: now the game's fps doesn't really go beyond the 10-15 range. can anyone help?
(oh and yes, i did try the openGL plugin but that one just made it slower)
here's my system specs (at least the ones i think are relevant):
cpu: core i7 960 @ 3.2 ghz
gpu: ati hd 5970 2gb
memory(ram): 9gb ddr3
os: windows 7 home premium 64 bit
ah nevermind (i'm a noob when if comes to dolphin so excuse me)... so i turned down antialiasing to 2.25 and fps now range between 58 and 63. looking at the current settings closely, antialiasing set to 9 doesn't make enough of a difference (even on full screen 1080p resolution) to give up enough performance to make the game unplayable. even with this set at 2.25, the game looks WAAAAY better than it would on my wii (if my brother hadn't spilled water on it to render it useless--main reason i'm using dolphin).
well now that's the end of my troubles! now to get a bluetooth adapter for my computer because playing mario galaxy 2 w/ an xb360 controller is ok but doesn't feel quite right (though the rumbling on the 360 controller is like 20 times better than the rumbling on the wiimote )!
i hope this thread helped anyone having similar problems!
