I'm trying to set up some custom Free Look controls and basically, I want all the controls that are on the keyboard by default to be on my Switch Pro controller. But I want to keep the mouse controls as default- using the mouse. I found an old thread from 2014 where somebody wanted to divide (traditional) controller settings between two devices and they were told you can select the device individually on each button mapping. But this isn't working here- if I switch one individual action to "Keyboard Mouse", it doesn't save that and when I go back into it it's reset to the controller again. Or vice versa if the universal setting is on the keyboard/mouse. I tried having that set to "All Devices" too but that still doesn't seem to actually be listening for inputs on both devices.

First of all, make sure you are using a latest dev build to access the improved free look menus and features. I believe you are due to all devices but, just to be sure.

Ok since "All Devices" doesn't seem to be working for you, you should do it the old fashioned way. So first, press Reset > Default at the top of the mapping window just so we're on the same page. Then, set the switch pro controller to the main device for free look (where it says device up at the top of the mapping window). Now that that is done, remap everything in the General tab to the Switch Pro controller, so that's movement, FOV, etc. Once everything in the General tab is changed, move to the rotation tab and right click the first option "Pitch Up". This will option the advanced configuration window for that input (it looks like this). Now you want to set the device for that specific input to your keyboard and mouse device.

This is where it gets tricky. For the button to work with a different device the syntax at the bottom of the advanced window needs to have the device string in front of each input. So first, click in the text window at the bottom of the advanced window so the cursor is at the end of the text (we need to preserve the default inputs for Pitch Up). Now, then select a mouse or keyboard button in the window above the text and press "select". With that done, you should have a new string after the default pitch up string. Notice the new string has a device string ahead of the input. On mac it looks like "Quartz/0/Keyboard & Mouse:A" for keyboard button A, on Windows it will be Dinput or something. Now, we need to make that device string be in front of every mouse input in the default pitch up input. The inputs are in green, so put it in front of each green input.

And now, if you got it woorking, just repeat setting the device and adding the device string for each input!

So yea, this is complicated. If you're still having trouble I'll help you with more detail later. It's late here atm.
