not really, get rawdump > v1.99 (aka V2 and above)

Ah? I thought I read somewhere it took 50 hours or so... then I was wrong.
Thank you Smile

Almond: how did you screw up your Wii exactly? And does it still boot?

No, it actually takes about 2-4 hours for a normal Wii disc, about 45 Minutes for a GC-Disc, and I quess 6-8 Hours for a Double-Layer-Disc.

Ah, it uses a malformed banner to crash the WiiOS and run code... I already guessed it from its name.

Maybe in a newer version of their firmware Nintendo will handle malformed banners correctly and this
exploit won't work anymore... but hackers will find a workaround or another exploit Tongue
And that will keep happening again and again Tongue

I just don't get why they bother, it happened with the PSP and the exact same thing is happening with the Wii. It is also bound to happen to any future consoles.

I just don't get why they work so hard wasting resources to block exploits when another way will always be found around it to run unlicensed "homebrew" code.

They should really try to work with the homebrew community rather than shun it, such a move could possibly bring good publicity for the consoles.

Look at the xbox 360, it's been 3 years now and we still only have firmware hacks.

and most hacked console my ass.

Most hacked console of all time would be the Xbox 1 I believe, a ton of those are modded.
