define "normal." Just because you have a crappy system, doesn't mean devs should work to make it work for you. Just play on your wii and stop complaining!

i thought i had a pretty good pc but its often slowish for me too. my system is amd 5000 dual core 2.20ghz and 3gb ram as well as a nvidia 8800gt and theres not much running on the pc to slow it down. just what kind of system do you need to get good performance?

That was a good computer ~3 years ago. Emulation takes a lot of processing power, as they're emulating the hardware with software.

Dolphin isn't meant to be a substitute for a real Wii. If a game is not playable with your current system or with Dolphin's current status then either wait until Dolpin is improved in the future (optimization is unlikely to happen) or play it on a Wii.

Checkout my latest project ( it is a program that downloads and compiles dolphin on mac and linux now): http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu-downloader (It's unofficial and maintained by me, not the dolphin dev team)

Actually, no he isn't.

I had a good chuckle, the response was appropriate enough. Saves from typing out, "get better hardware" because that's essentially what it boils down to. There is no magic fix or version of Dolphin to solve speed issues caused by inadequate hardware other than purchasing better hardware.
